With its fast-rolling 29er wheels and RockShox 35 Silver air fork boasting 130mm of smooth, easily adjustable travel, you can tell right away that the CUBE Reaction TM is a bike that’s up for a challenge.
CUBE has fitted Magura’s powerful MT Thirty hydraulic disc brakes – with a 200mm rotor up front and a 180mm at the rear – and a wide 760mm handlebar to ensure you’re always in full control, even on the toughest trails. Sram’s simple, reliable and wide-ranging SX Eagle 1×12 transmission puts the right gear for any situation within easy reach. And they even fitted a dropper post, so you’re ready for those pulse-quickening line choices.
FRAME Cube Reaction TM
Completely revised, the brand-new Reaction sleek looks are thanks to its smooth-welded head tube and seat tube junctions. It incorporates a threaded bottom bracket and internal cable routing for long-lasting service and simple maintenance. There’s even a flat disc mount that integrates seamlessly with the kickstand mount, and integrated mounting points for ACID mudguards and carrier. Updated geometry includes a lower top tube and tapered head tube for more confident handling, cables run internally for reduced maintenance, and there’s plenty of room to run wide, grippy and comfortable 2.25in tyres. And, as your skills increase, there’s scope to fit a dropper post upgrade.
Technologies
Internal Cable Routing
Cables connect your handlebar controls to vital components like gears and brakes, but there’s no need for them to get in your way. With Internal Cable Routing CUBE has reduced clutter and maintenance by running cables through the frame, keeping them out of the way of dust and water contamination – or damage from abrasion – as well as cleaning up your bike’s appearance.
SIC Mount
Flexibility is important for a bike that’s going to slot into your life. That’s why, for CUBE’s Semi Integrated Carrier Mount, they designed a system that’s unobtrusive when you don’t need it and really simple to use when you do. By adding the Semi-Integrated Carrier your CUBE can take on the shopping, your commute, or take you further afield at the weekend…
Smooth Welding
Smooth Welding isn’t easy, but worthwhile things usually aren’t. It has two advantages. First, and most obviously, it looks great: one tube seems to almost flow into the other. Second, and at least as importantly, it helps to minimise load peaks on welded areas for better frame strength and durability.
Kickstand Mount
A kickstand can be useful, no two ways about it. But if it’s going to do its job properly, it needs a secure mount. That’s why CUBE has put as much effort into designing the Kickstand Mount for their frames as they do for any other feature. Neat, unobtrusive but exceptionally strong and stable, it’s the best way to help keep your CUBE bike upright when you’re not riding it.
SizeSplit
The right bike should fit you perfectly. That’s why CUBE has created SizeSplit: To be able to offer frames with the optimal fit and at the same time agile and reliable handling, CUBE uses 27.5 inch wheels for shorter riders. And, for taller riders, CUBE has built a range of sizes around the fast-rolling 29er wheel standard. Whichever one you choose, you can be sure of a fit that makes your bike feel as though it was built just for you.
Trail Motion Geometry
When you live to ride trails for fun, flat out, CUBE’s Trail Motion Geometry is what you need. A little more suspension travel up front, plenty of room to move around and with a cockpit design that emphasises maneouvrability, the icing on the cake is always the extra care CUBE takes selecting brakes and wheels for our TM bikes.
